Free CadFaster™ mobile app takes full advantage of the form and functionality of CadFaster|Collaborate™ which can be downloaded for a free 14 day trial.
CadFaster™, Inc. today announced the release of its new CadFaster application for the Apple iPad®, available in the Apple iTunes App Store. The new mobile application takes full advantage of the form and functionality of CadFaster’s popular CadFaster|Collaborate™ software tool for Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), mechanical and plant design firms seeking the fast reading and smooth handling of complex and large CAD data files. CadFaster|Collaborate is distinguished by its ability to allow participants to distribute, annotate, and co-view diverse 3D designs in real-time using the fastest and most efficient 3D visualization technology in the market.
“The mobilization of today’s workforce is rapidly evolving throughout much of the traditional PLM user base,” said Peter Bilello, president, CIMdata. “This evolution is requiring rethinking the way users interact with rich information sets, such as 3D CAD geometry, and the retooling of the CAD designers and other PLM solution users with new, faster, and more portable information delivery devices. CadFaster’s release of their iPad app is welcomed news, especially for those who currently use Autodesk Revit, Bentley Microstation, or SolidWorks CAD solutions. CadFaster’s iPad app delivers user experience that provides what mobile users have come to expect. The time is right for a mobile solution that is able to render 3D models on an iPad with associated details at the user’s finger tips in real-time delivered via the Cloud.”
The CadFaster iPad app allows anyone to collaborate with 3D models exported to the CadFaster cloud service from Autodesk® Revit®, Bentley MicroStation® or SolidWorks®. An ArchiCAD® plug-in will be available in September, 2011. 3D models are highly compressed before they are exported and stored in a cloud database and the app includes a number of demo models to work with.
“Unlike traditional viewers that are often very slow on mobile applications and require a large amount of internal memory to open a stored file, the CadFaster mobile app allows users to easily and almost instantly view models that are exported from CAD programs using the CadFaster|Collaborate plug-in,” said Raimo Kuismin, chairman, CadFaster. “It’s also much more than a viewer. This application provides a free resource at anyone’s fingertips for accessing, sharing, marking up and co-viewing diverse, 3D CAD designs.”
A free 14 day trial of CadFaster|Collaborate can be downloaded at http://www.cadfaster.com/. CadFaster|Collaborate for Autodesk Revit, Bentley Microstation or SolidWorks can now also be easily purchased and downloaded through two authorized high quality resellers ─ Novedge.com (http://bit.ly/frCQWP) in the U.S., Jigsaw in the UK (http://bit.ly/ewjlDZ), or directly from CadFaster’s online store for European customers (http://www.cadfaster.com/).
