Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, has today announced their partnership with ASCON, a developer and integrator of professional CAD/AEC/PLM solutions.
ASCON, one of the first CAD developers within the Russian market, produces the KOMPAS -3D modelling software sold to over 40,000 customers all over the world. ASCON has licensed the Lightworks Artisan product and will be offering their customers a plug-in to this from KOMPAS-3D. ASCON will become the first company in Russia to sell an Artisan-based product when they release in September.
David Forrester, Managing Director at Lightworks, commented, “We’re delighted to be signing ASCON as a new customer of our Lightworks Artisan product and are excited by this move into the Russian CAD market place. ASCON are a key player in Russia and their implementation of Artisan as a plug-in to KOMPAS-3D will enable their users to take advantage of our simple and intuitive interface and also access quality photorealistic rendering at the click of a button.“
Slava Kashirsky, International Product Manager at ASCON, said, “Our collaboration with Lightworks began in 2008 when we were searching for an advanced photo rendering solution. Now we are glad to add Lightworks Artisan, fully integrated in our MCAD solution KOMPAS-3D, to our product line”.
Oleg Zykov, Innovation Project Manager at ASCON, added: “More and more our customers are demanding a high-performance solution for rendering, integrated with KOMPAS-3D. The Artisan plug-in from Lightworks is exactly what they need. It allows them to create high quality images, whilst the solution is easy to learn and to work with. I'm sure that our partnership with Lightworks will be long and successful”.
Lightworks Artisan offers a completely new approach and tools for the creation of high quality images of virtual products or buildings, whilst they are still being designed. Artisan can be easily integrated directly within an existing CAD system and its simple workflow process enables a faster design to final image creation. The unique SnapShots functionality enables users to save SnapShots of scenes at any stage of the design process which can then be re-applied at any time within Artisan.
KOMPAS-3D, the award-winning mechanical CAD solution from ASCON, provides its users with effective industrial product development, the release of design and drafting documentation, and at an affordable price. It combines all basic features for professional, parametric, 3D modelling; full-scale 2D design and drafting output; extra add-ons for surface modelling, photo rendering, motion simulation, piping, kinematic, and dynamic analysis; and import/export from and to other CAD/AEC/PLM solutions.
