Professional Ovens Producer Integrates Product Development, Manufacturing and Services Data into a Single PLM Backbone.
Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced that UNOX S.p.A. selected Teamcenter® software, Siemens PLM Software’s digital lifecycle management solution, as its company-wide PLM system to help reduce time-to-market, enhance decision making, optimize resources and better control projects and process development.
UNOX, established in 1990, has quickly become a leading global company for the design and production of professional ovens for the baking, pastry and gastronomy markets, thanks to a continuous process of research and innovation. By developing a PLM strategy, the Italian company now plans to connect all product data, making it easier to access information and enhance cooperation among all involved parties.
UNOX selected Teamcenter following an extensive evaluation process against competing solutions. Teamcenter proved to be the best solution for UNOX as it met all key criteria out-of-the box without requiring any customization. The company cited the quality of the solution, the reliability of direct support, and implementation time as key decision making factors.
UNOX will use Teamcenter to enhance its product development, process engineering, engineering data management, and to consolidate existing legacy systems, including Pro/E® software and ERP SAP® software. Beyond easing data sharing within the group and with the suppliers, Teamcenter automatically acquires best practice knowledge for future traceability, promoting innovation and efficiency.
“UNOX required a unique environment, to connect product development, manufacturing and services to enhance innovation and help reduce time-to-market,” said Enrico Franzolin, president, UNOX. “Based on our extensive evaluation, the PLM backbone based on Teamcenter could support separate product and management data in an easily accessible knowledge centre which could be accessed across the company to enable everyone to make the most of different applications. Siemens PLM Software helped us build a solid awareness of our needs and of the different solutions with total transparency, clearness and simplicity.”
Fabio Duregon, technical manager, UNOX added, “More than buying a product and implementing services, we have invested in a consultancy relationship. The consistent approach of the Siemens PLM Software team stood as a further warranty: all the professionals we met have shown the same competency, professionalism and passion to help UNOX succeed.”
“We are proud that an innovative company such as UNOX has selected Teamcenter to efficiently support its objectives for tighter synchronization and broader business reach,” said Franco Megali, vice president and managing director, Italy, Siemens PLM Software.
