Announces Plan to Integrate Proprietary Open-Source CAD Platform Into Company's Flagship Integrated Workplace Management System.
San Francisco - Bricsnet, a leading provider of solutions for real estate, project and integrated workplace management, announced today that its Chairman and CEO, Hector Rodriguez, has been named to the Board of Directors of Portland-based IntelliCAD Technology Consortium. Bricsnet also announced plans to integrate IntelliCAD technology into its flagship Integrated Workplace Management System, Bricsnet Enterprise, this year.
The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium is an organization comprising and owned by member companies that focuses on the development of the IntelliCAD platform in use by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.
IntelliCAD -- a robust, Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) platform compatible with the DWG drawing format -- has set the standard for affordable CAD software that offers full DWG compatibility and a familiar easy to use command set and application programming interface. IntelliCAD is available for purchase only through ITC Commercial Members who integrate the IntelliCAD technology with additional solutions and applications serving the needs of a wide variety of engineering markets.
Bricsnet has been a long-standing member of the ITC and currently markets the IntelliCAD platform in Europe under the brand name of BitCAD. Bricsnet plans to incorporate the technology into the Bricsnet Enterprise solution for delivery to its clients who manage space occupancy and utilization via electronic floorplans created using CAD software.
"I am delighted and honored to join the Board of Directors of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium," said Rodriguez. "The ITC provides a valuable service to the architecture, engineering, construction and workplace management communities, and we look forward to making this technology part of our standard offering to the Bricsnet Enterprise community, thereby, lowering the total cost of ownership of an Integrated Workplace Management solution."
Rodriguez has been a member of the Bricsnet Board of Directors since 2002, when he co-led a group of investors who bought the Bricsnet business from a predecessor company. He became Chairman of the Board in 2006 and assumed the role of CEO in 2008. Based in Madrid, Spain, he has a strong technology and business background attained early in his career through his extensive tenure in Accenture, and as Principal of the investment group which directly oversees Bricsnetâ??s development in the marketplace.
