Tennessee – Striker Systems, an industry leader in the development of sheet metal manufacturing software, has announced the release of STRIKER 2010 Sheet Metal CAD/CAM & Nesting.
Driven by customer input, STRIKER 2010 delivers numerous enhancements to existing features as well as introducing new technology. A significant advancement is further refinement of the Ribbon Interface. The STRIKER 2010 Ribbon Interface presents commands in a simplified, structured interface that makes the software easier to learn and easier to use. The result is that STRIKER 2010 software users accomplish more in less time.
“Our goal with each new release is improved productivity for our customers,” states Michael Boggs, Striker Systems VP of Sales. “STRIKER 2010 achieves this goal through a combination of interface advancements, performance improvements, and feature innovation.” One of these enhanced features is the ability to create, track, and nest on irregular shaped (non rectangular) sheets or plates. STRIKER 2010 will create a crop cut to separate the unused portion of a nested sheet. This sheet remnant, regardless of shape, is then placed into inventory for future nesting consideration. A Sheet remnant can be assigned to a subsequent nest job by the user or STRIKER 2010 can automatically select a sheet remnant when it is determined to deliver the greatest material utilization. STRIKER 2010 helps customers reduce scrap by incorporating remnant sheets that might not otherwise be considered for production.
